T minus 48 and Counting

Four months of careful planning and three gazillion dollars of purchases from Amazon later, we find ourselves just two days from lift off for our London and Ireland vacation.  We will be trading the heat, humidity and hurricanes (Miami's 3 H's) of home (make that 4 H's) for the cooler climes across the pond.

We will be landing in the middle of London's Para Olympics where we hope to compete in the sexaginticatholon.  This is a little known event (since it has nothing to do with sex) where a team of two individuals who are both over 60 years of age, attempt to visit 60 tourist locations in under 4 days.  A record of each sight location must be documented with at least 60 photographs taken from 60 different angles.  We had originally hoped to parachute into the middle of the Olympic stadium but the queen has already done that.

Our British Airways flight takes off at 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday.  If we manage to make it on board that flight when it takes off there should be additional blog entries once we get there.  Additional entries will be made as Internet connections and weather permit.  Read here, good weather = fewer blog entries.
Our Travel Agent Promised Us Good Seats

When we land at Heathrow airport we have a car service meeting us in baggage claim.  I told them my name was Brad Pitt.  Since our driver will be carrying a sign with this name I figured he would be easier to spot as he will be surrounded by soon-to-be-disappointed women.

Well, I'm sure there is something I need to be doing even though I have been getting ready for months.  More later.
